THE DRUID HOUSE PROJECT |
 |
Welcome to the "Druid House"
project!
What are we about?
The Druid House is a project that we hope to realise over a timespan of 5 to 10 years. The
idea is to establish an actual "Druid House", which would then symbolize the
"headquarters" of the New Order of Druids, in Belgium (where the N.O.D. was
founded). The Druid House came as a vision to Phoenix (David) who then wrote down this
vision in words (see text on the right) as an actual place, in the north of Belgium, where
people can come together. It would, in several
aspects, be some sort of temple, without compromising the Druid character to it. The idea
is that people, regardless if they are Christian or worship another God or Goddess, can
meet here. The place would be designed in a typical Celtic style, and there would actually
be "masses" where both Celtic Saints and Celtic Gods and Goddesses can be
revered.
To realise this project, many funds will be needed to pay for
the many expenses. Any help (financial or otherwise) will always be greatly appreciated at
any time, even though it will yet take years to realise it. Below, you will find updates
on how far we got already, what items/objects have been bought, exterior and interior
design plans, and so on.

As I listened to the music of Gary Stadler,
the songs created an image in my mind,
of a Druid place of worship.
A place like a church, yet different,
where against the front wall would be a large Celtic Cross,
and in front of it a consecrated Druid altar.
In each corner would be beautiful green plants,
and in the back resounds the faint flow of a little fountain of water.
The walls would be decorated with Celtic knotwork,
and rune symbols written above the doors.
A place full of colours and candles,
dragon sculptures and standing stones.
In the background soft music would be played,
where instead of bass and tenor men voices singing church music,
the soprano faerie voices of females would echo through the place,
music of Enya, Loreena McKennit, Gary Stadler, Eimar Quinn,
and the chants of Druids and Bards,
as well as the sound of harp.
There would be a private grove,
of trees in the backyard,
for those who seek peace and solitude with the gods under the sky.
And inside would be a gathering of people,
who come to find peace and quiet,
who come to worship as they will,
where the voices are dimmed,
where both druid and Christian alike will be welcome,
for there would be held sacred ceremonies for the Celtic gods
as well as the ancient Celtic Christian Saints.
Here Celtic weddings would take place,
and simple daily gatherings for those who wish,
to honour the gods and goddesses of that day,
to pray and worship alone or together.
To make it come true, we must do it together,
a place of worship for all, made by all.
Do you see my vision before you as well?
Will you help it come true?
What say you?

DESIGN & INTERIOR
The design of the main hall interior will be majorly inspired by
The Golden Hall of Meduseld as seen in "The Two Towers" of Lord of the Rings.

It would also be a mixture with inspirations from the serene
surroundings of Rivendell.

It would also have a seperate corner for lighting candles for good
causes.
Certain "pillars" would consist of tree trunks, with plants (hopefully) growing
around it.

The walls would be decorated with Celtic knotwork (as would the pillars)
as well as wall paintings.
Paintings would illustrate certain events in the Celtic history of Gaul, Britain and
Ireland.

Statues would, among others, display the antiques and represent some
kind of museum.
A second, separate "meeting room" would be right next to it,
where actual meetings can be held,
seated around a Round Table. The design for this room (and table) would be partly inspired
by
the Round Table hall as seen in the movie "King Arthur" (2004).
