OPRICHTING VAN DE NERVII NEMETON
BIJEENKOMST OP 2 SEPTEMBER 2005

De eerste bijeenkomst mag zeker als geslaagd beschouwd worden! Een e-mail werd op voorhand rondgestuurd naar alle leden van de New Order of Druids, om de datum van de allereerste bijeenkomst in Antwerpen aan te kondigen. Deze aankondiging werd herhaald in verschillende open forums, zoals de United Life Church en OBOD. Torc heeft op zijn beurt dan weer zijn best gedaan om het nieuws elders te verspreiden, zoals in het nieuws van The Druid Network. De resultaten bleven niet uit, en we waren in totaal met 8 mensen op de allereerste bijeenkomst die plaats vond in de pub "Celtic Ireland" op de Groenplaats in Antwerpen!

Phoenix gaf een klein woordje uitleg over de Keltische geschiedenis van België, en vertelde over Weris, de Megalitische hoofdstad van België, de oorsprong van de namen België en Ardennen, de laatste Druïden in Vlaanderen voor de Middeleeuwen, en tenslotte de oprichting van de Nervii Nemeton, waarschijnlijk de eerste Nederlandstalige Druïden Orde van België.

Dit werd gevolgd met een eenvoudige ceremonie om de "Mother Grove" van de New Order of Druids spiritueel op te starten. Een cirkel werd getrokken rond de groep, de "N.O.D. Druid Prayer" werd geciteerd, en een klein vriendschapsritueel werd gehouden in de cirkel, met zout en rode wijn, waarna de Nervii Nemeton als opgericht werd verklaard.

Na de ceremonie werd er nog gezellig verder gepraat bij een glaasje wijn, een pint of een frisdrank, en vertelden de aanwezige mensen hun eigen verhaal des levens, over hoe ze zelf op deze weg terecht gekomen waren.

FOUNDATION OF THE NERVII NEMETON
MEETING ON SEPTEMBER 2, 2005

The first meeting was a success! An e-mail was sent in advance to all members of the New Order of Druids, to announce the date of the very first meeting in Antwerp. This announcement was repeated in various open forums, such as the United Life Church and OBOD. Torc in turn did everything he could to spread the news elsewhere, such as in the news of The Druid Network. As a result, we were with a total of 8 people on this very first meeting, which took place in the pub "Celtic Ireland" on the Groenplaats in Antwerp!

Phoenix explained a bit of Celtic history of Belgium, and spoke of Weris, the Megalithic capital of Belgium, the origin of the names Belgium and Ardennes, the last Druids in Flanders before the Middle Ages, and also the foundation of the Nervii Nemeton, probably the first Dutch Druid Order in Belgium.

This was followed by a simple ceremony to spiritually start the "Mother Grove" of the New Order of Druids. A circle was drown around the group, the "N.O.D. Druid Prayer" was cited, and a small friendship ritual was kept within the circle, with salt and red wine, whereafter the Nervii Nemeton was declared to be founded.

After the ceremony, people had a nice talk with a glass of wine, a pint or a soda, and told the other people present their own life story, and how they got involved on this path.
